How do you play Dynamons 4?

In this cute battle game, you can catch all kinds of fantasy animals. These pocket monsters are called Dynamons. At the outset of your journey, the professor will let you choose one of three starter options: Grubble, Hopchop, or Winger. Pick one to begin your adventure.

Search for more pocket monsters in the forests, caves, along the beach, and inside of the old volcano. Use your Discatch floppy discs to capture wild Dynamons after you weaken them in a battle. You can then add them to your team, train them to increase their strength and teach them new skills.

Along your journey, you’ll also encounter other trainers and team captains. Test your skills against these Dynamon masters and gain lots of experience points for your team. Defeat the final boss to unlock the next area on the world map.

You start at the Costa Guesta beach, but there are lots of other locations to explore in search of unique Dynamons. Search for fire-type creatures by Mt Krembo, or look for plant-type and poison-type pocket monsters in the Tall Pines forest, for example. Can you catch all Dynamons, including even the most legendary ones?

What types of Dynamons are there?

There are five basic types of Dynamons: fire, water, electric, dark, and plant. Each type has particular attributes that make them effective against certain elements, but weak against others. For example, fire-type creatures are weak against water, but their fire skills are strong against plant-type creatures.

How do you catch Dynamons?

To catch wild Dynamons, you will first have to find them. Each empty dot on the map that is marked with a red icon beside shows where a wild creature is hiding. Pick a location and see which Dynamon you’ve discovered. If you want to catch it, you’ll have to weaken it in battle first.

Fight the wild Dynamon with your own creatures until its health bar is low. If its health bar runs out completely, it will run away and you’ll miss your chance. When the wild pocket monster is weak enough to catch, you can take out one of your Discatch floppy discs. The Dynamon will be caught in the disc. If the lamp in the middle goes green, you’ve caught it.

Sometimes the lamp goes red and the wild Dynamon will break your Discatch and escape. If you have any spare Discatches left, you can try again on your next turn. You can earn extra Discatch discs as a reward when you defeat other trainers, but you can also purchase more discs at the in-game shop using the gold coins you’ve collected.

How do you teach Dynamons new skills?

Dynamons earn experience points (EXP) for participating in battles (unless they are defeated, so be sure to switch them for another member of your team when their health is low). By earning EXP, your Dynamons will automatically level up.

Leveling up will allow your Dynamons to learn new skills by adding new skill cards to their deck of actions. In each battle, three random skill cards are selected. Each time you use one, a new one will be picked from that Dynamon’s deck. The more powerful moves you unlock, the greater the chance you will draw those action cards in battle.

Do Dynamons evolve in Dynamons 4?

Some Dynamons can also evolve, which will cause their appearance to change. They will have to reach a certain level of strength before this happens, however. Not all Dynamons can evolve, but those that can will usually do so somewhere between levels 18 and 28.

Are there more Dynamons games?

Dynamons 4 was preceded by three other games: Dynamons, which was followed by Dynamons Evolution and Dynamons World. These older games are no longer available. Dynamons 4 brings you all the best elements of the preceding episodes in a whole new format with smoother graphics and better game mechanics.
