How do you play Fireboy and Watergirl 3: Ice Temple?

In this platform game, the two heroes must collect the gems and open the doors to the next chamber of the temple. Complete the levels to find the way out. In order to reach the exit, the two characters must work together to activate the moving platforms and open the doors for each other.

You can play this game alone, or share the keyboard with a friend and work together. To complete the levels, both characters must make it to the exit. Their fates are linked, so if one character dies, it’s game over for the other hero as well: they’ll both have to retry the level.

Strategy: How do Fireboy and Watergirl work together?

To complete the levels, the player(s) will have to make clever use of the complementary powers of each hero. Fireboy can’t touch the pools of water, but he can walk through the lava. Watergirl can’t touch the lava, but she can walk through water. Neither character can survive touching the toxic green sludge.

Watergirl can collect the blue gems, but will pass right through the red ones, and while Fireboy can’t collect the blue gems, he can pick up the red ones. Both characters are able to  grab the white gems. You will need all of the gems to open the exit.

What are the special features of the Ice Temple in Fireboy and Watergirl 3?

The Ice Temple has some special features. Firstly, there are banks of snow and icy patches throughout the temple. Ice and snow affect the two heroes differently. Watergirl’s feet freeze onto the snow and she can only move slowly. However, this allows her to climb up slippery slopes with ease.

Fireboy slips and slides over snow and ice. He can move quickly, but because his feet keep slipping, he can’t climb up snowy slopes like Watergirl can. Neither character can jump while standing on snow or ice!

There are also a number of ice beams and heat beams in the level. The heroes can push the color coded buttons and flip the switches to direct these beams at pools of water. Ice beams will freeze the water, and heat beams will thaw out the ice.
