Solitaire Classic
Solitaire Classic is an online version of the famous card game Klondike, also known as Patience. Can you sort the cards by number and suit? Draw 1 or 3 cards from the stockpile and see what you can move to the tableau.
How to play Solitaire Classic
This card solitaire game is played with a single deck of cards. The cards are shuffled and then placed on the table in seven columns. Only the bottom card of each column is turned face up. The rest is left face down. This part of the game’s layout is called the tableau. All the cards that are left over after creating the tableau are stacked on top of each other and placed face down in one corner. This stack is called the stockpile or stock.
You can pick up the face-up cards within the tableau and stack them on top of each other in descending order (high to low). When you do this, you have to alternate between the red and the black cards.
Above the tableau, there are four empty slots. You can move the cards here in ascending order (from low to high). When you do this, you must sort the cards by suit. (That is, by the symbols: hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs). Once you’ve moved all of the cards to these four slots, you’ve won the game.
If you make a mistake, don’t worry. This game features an ‘undo’ button. You can use this to reverse your moves.
Solitaire Classic: Extra Features
You can change several game features via the settings menu (the button with the gear on it). For instance, you can use the button with the two hands to alternate between a right-handed and a left-handed tableau layout.
The button with three cards over one allows you to switch between drawing 1 card from the stockpile (1-card draw), or always drawing 3 cards at once (3-card draw). Three-card draw makes the game more difficult to finish.
